You are in the business of Real Estate. That’s a great place to be. However, you are not the only participant in the game. For that reason, you need to differentiate yourself and stand out in the crowded real estate arena.
In this video, Wayne discusses the importance of establishing your Unique Marketing Position (UMP). A good example is the shoe company, TOMS. Rather than trying to be the most, or least, expensive shoe on the market, they created a business model that includes a donation of a pair of shoes to someone in need for every pair of shoes purchased.
Since 2006, when the company was started, TOMS is now reported to be valued at $625M. They are not the first company to tie charitable donations to their purchases, but they were unique enough to stand out in a crowd and capture mass appeal.
